The Charleston Playmakers were formally created in 2011 to give middle school males an opportunity to excel on the basketball court as well as in the classroom and in life. In 2011, our first year as an AAU program- our 7th and 8th graders combined forces and qualified for the national tournament in Orlando, FL. The Charleston Playmakers were the only team in the Low Country to qualify & represent Charleston.
In 2012 the Playmakers returned to the National Tournament and came home with two Top 25 finishes. Our 15U Playmakers flew to Little Rock, AR to take third in the Classic Bracket. Our 14U Playmakers took a top 20 finish from the Championship Bracket in Orlando, FL.
In 2013, the Playmakers expanded, to provide boys in grades 7-11 an opportunity to compete for Charleston’s premiere AAU organization. The class of 2015 team placed 14th in the nation at AAU nations and competed in the NCAA Super Showcase, advancing the the Elite 8.
